Job Description

As our Assistant Accountant, you’ll play a key role in supporting the hotel’s financial operations during the pre-opening phase, soft opening, and ongoing day-to-day business. You’ll work closely with our Finance Controller, GM, and department leaders to ensure the smooth running of accounts, payroll, reporting and compliance.

Main Functions

  • Manage Accounts Receivable using Opera PMS (billing, posting, debt follow-up)

  • Support Payroll processing and compliance

  • Handle Accounts Payable: invoice processing, supplier reconciliations & payments

  • Assist with Purchasing via Purchase Plus

  • Prepare month-end journals, reconciliations & reporting

  • Maintain documentation and support audit/compliance requirements


Qualifications

  • 2–3 years’ experience in a similar accounting role, ideally within hospitality

  • Strong understanding of Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll and General Ledger

  • Experience using Opera PMS and/or Purchase Plus (ideal but not essential)

  • Intermediate–advanced Microsoft Excel skills

  • High attention to detail and strong analytical thinking

  • Excellent time management with the ability to prioritise

  • Clear communicator with a proactive, solution-focused approach

  • Full, unrestricted Australian working rights
