Accounting Generalist
Join Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge, where our Finance team plays a key role in delivering exceptional guest experiences. We’re looking for an Accounting Generalist who is detail-oriented, organized, and passionate about supporting daily financial operations in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
What you will be doing:
- Provide professional, friendly, and consistent service to internal and external stakeholders
- Support daily accounting operations including accounts payable, balance sheet reconciliations, inventory control, banking/cash management, and credit & client billing
- Review and code invoices; match with purchase orders as needed
- Investigate and resolve vendor inquiries promptly
- Scan and submit invoices, bank direct debits, and related documents to the Centralized Accounting Service Delivery team
- Monitor Vendor Account Issue Log and ensure timely follow-up
- Prepare cheque runs and electronic payments following established controls
- Maintain self-cashiering machine transactions daily
- Prepare daily bank deposits
- Provide cashiering support to colleagues and retail tenants as needed
- Complete month-end close procedures, including occasional extended hours
- Assist with daily and weekly Credit and Treasury tasks
- Support finance leadership with ad hoc projects and special assignments
- Adhere to all safety, sanitation, departmental policies, and service standards
- Perform other duties as required
Your experience and skills include:
- Previous accounting experience is an asset
- Strong working knowledge of Windows and Excel
- Ability to work accurately, independently, and meet deadlines
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated tact, diplomacy, and respect for confidentiality
- Strong problem-solving abilities; highly responsible and reliable
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and collaborate effectively with the team
- Commitment to maintaining a calm and courteous demeanor when supporting colleagues and guests
Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
