Accounting Generalist - General Cashier
The Accounting Department of the Fairmont Chateau Whistler is looking for a dynamic and organized team player who would be responsible to balance record and control cash, floats and petty cash transactions of the business. The successful candidate will also be responsible for banking receipts, processing and recording all cash/cheques within the company and ensure both accuracy and timely receipt in the hotel bank accounts.
Salary Range: $56,000 - $58,200 per annum dependent on experience
Job Duties Include:
- Responsible for hotel cash flow, through correctly receiving and banking cash, reconciling cash receipt daily and issuing/returning cash floats
- Recording and depositing all cash receipts for the hotel, providing change and collecting funds from vending machines
- Investigating significant variances and arranging for daily cash collection by armed guard services
- Performing regular counts and completing regular reports, ensuring compliance through all areas of the accounting team
- Previous cash handling experience in a hospitality setting is preferred
- College degree in Business/Accounting or a combination of education and work experience
- Exposure to hotel operating and accounting systems, including Opera PMS, Silverware POS and Birchstreet
