Job Description

This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a passion for accuracy and customer service, seeking to contribute to the financial operations of a world-renowned resort. The Accounting Generalist (General Cashier) is responsible for managing the resort’s treasury operations, including cash floats, petty cash handling, and banking transactions. This position ensures compliance with corporate policies and accuracy in financial reporting and other accounting related tasks.

Competitive Salary: $54,000 - $56,000 gross annually, based on previous experience & education.

Job Duties Include:  

Reporting to the Credit Manager, responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Balance daily banking, issue and reconcile cash floats, handle petty cash, and process foreign currency exchanges.
  • Monitor adherence to cash handling policies, investigate variances, and compile cashier overage/shortage reports.
  • Retrieve and scan invoices, assist with vendor inquiries, process bank direct debits, and print cheques following controls.
  • Ensure precise financial records, assist with month-end processes, and support finance-related projects.
  • Provide professional service, liaise with departments on cash-related matters, and assist finance leadership with ad hoc responsibilities.

 


Qualifications

Your Skills & Qualifications:

  • College degree in Business/Accounting or equivalent education and experience.
  • Previous hospitality operations and cash handling experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with hotel systems (e.g., Opera PMS, Silverware POS) and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel essential).
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and customer service abilities.
  • Ability to meet daily cash reporting deadlines and effectively interact with colleagues during cash hours.
