Job Description

  • Lead and supervise the stewarding team during the night shift, ensuring smooth operations in the kitchen and back-of-house areas.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene, following health and safety regulations.
  • Oversee the proper handling, washing, and storage of kitchen equipment, dishes, and utensils.
  • Ensure that all waste and recyclables are disposed of properly and efficiently.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure cleanliness and compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Train and develop the stewarding team, fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and excellence.
  • Manage the night shift cleaning schedules and ensure all tasks are completed to the highest standard.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including the culinary team, to support efficient kitchen operations.
  • Report maintenance or safety issues promptly to the relevant departments.
  • Assist in inventory management and stock control of cleaning supplies.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a similar role within a hotel or hospitality environment.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience leading a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and hygiene regulations in a kitchen environment.
  • Ability to work independently during the night shift with excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well with different departments.
  • Ability to handle physical tasks, including lifting and standing for long periods.
  • A positive attitude and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and efficiency.
