Job Description

We are seeking a visionary and innovative Head Chef to lead our culinary team at our prestigious restaurant in Mysuru, India. As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations, menu development, and staff management while delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests.

  • Develop and implement creative, seasonally-inspired menus that showcase both local and international cuisines
  • Oversee daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, quality control, and presentation
  • Manage kitchen staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness
  • Collaborate with the management team to set and achieve culinary and financial goals
  • Control food and labor costs while maintaining quality standards
  • Source and maintain relationships with local suppliers to ensure the use of fresh, high-quality ingredients
  • Participate in menu engineering and pricing strategies to maximize profitability
  • Stay current with culinary trends and incorporate innovative techniques into menu offerings
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that encourages creativity and professional growth

Qualifications

  • Culinary degree or equivalent experience in a high-volume, upscale restaurant setting
  • Proven experience as a Head Chef or Sous Chef in a similar establishment
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff
  • Exceptional culinary skills and in-depth knowledge of various cuisines and cooking techniques
  • Proficiency in menu creation, cost control, and inventory management
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong communication abilities, both verbal and written
  • Demonstrated creativity and innovation in culinary arts
  • Thorough understanding of food safety regulations and HACCP principles
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Proficiency in kitchen management software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of local Indian cuisine and ingredients is highly desirable
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
