Food & Beverage Team Leader

Novotel Melbourne South Wharf features golden 26 level tower with 347 accommodation rooms & suites, Mr. Carpano Dining and Bar and Allora Café. The hotel is complemented with direct access to the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre (MCEC), the Southern Hemisphere's largest meeting space and adjacent to the DFO centre, with 180+ retail brands.

As a Food and Beverage Team Leader at Novotel Melbourne South Wharf, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional dining experiences for our guests. We are seeking a passionate and motivated individual who can lead our team, ensuring our hotel operate smoothly and efficiently. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and delegate duties to ensure smooth daily operations in our outlets 
• Oversee the set-up, service, and breakdown of dining areas, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for guests
• Communicate feedback and key information to the Food & Beverage leadership team
• Maintain high levels of guest satisfaction by promptly addressing any concerns or special requests
• Lead by example and conduct team training to align with Novotel brand and service standards
• Monitor rosters and staffing schedules to meet operation requirements
• Ensure the proper handling and settlement of customer accounts using our POS system.
• Liaise with kitchen to ensure the highest standard of food quality and visual appeal

What you will bring to the role:

• A service-focused personality with a passion for food and beverage.
• Previous experience in a similar leadership role is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills, with the ability to lead by example.
• Experience in espresso coffee making and bartending will be highly regarded.
• Confidence in leading a team of food and beverage attendants independently.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations and food handling best practices.
• A Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
• Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekdays, weekends, and public holidays
