Mercure Penrith has a new opportunity for a highly motivated, driven and ambitious Director of Sales and Marketing to join our team with a focus on driving Corporate, Group and Project business for the hotel. The role also looks after the hotel marketing, distribution and online engagement.

Job Description

To be successful in this role you will demonstrate excellence in a hotel Sales and Marketing role as well as outstanding internal stakeholder and owner management, understanding of brand delivery and the ability to impact and influence the overall business agenda and execution.

You will demonstrate commercial acumen by maintaining awareness of unfolding business performance, market influences and trends as well as commercial agility by adapting tactics and plans to enable the hotel's businesses to stay ahead of the curve.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develop and implement strategic sales plan to achieve revenue targets and maximize profitability across the business.
  • Negotiation of corporate and group contracts.
  • Develop, maintain and manage strong relationships with key clients to ensure market growth across the corporate and group markets. 
  • Understanding Brand integrity.
  • Conduct needs analysis relating to sales of each of the hotel to determine areas requiring particular focus.
  • Act as primary point of contact for Hotels including the coordination and leadership of site inspections to assist conversion
  • Manage the Hotel RFP submissions and maintain strong relationships with existing clients to encourage repeat business and referrals.
  • Oversee the negotiation of contracts and agreements with clients, ensuring terms are favourable and align with company objectives.
  • Prepare a monthly Sales report reflecting activities, market intelligence, site inspections and familiarisations. Completely monthly Accor and owners end of month reports.
  • Support and champion the loyalty culture throughout the region including hotel recruitment, activation and member engagement initiatives.
  • Build and maintain the relationship with Panthers Penrith Leagues Club events team to drive events and residential conferences.
  • Maintain a comprehensive level of property product knowledge and actively sell all attributes of the Hotel including the Panthers Penrith Leagues Club for food and beverage opportunities.
  • Ensure all online marketing and distribution tools are updated to maximize opportunities both for the public and corporate sectors. Ensure hotel websites are always updated and accurate.
  • Work collaboratively with Revenue to ensure room night and revenue targets are appropriately supported.

 


Qualifications

Your Skills and experience include:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role in the hotel industry. 
  • Proven track record of meeting and exceeding targets and goals. 
  • Self-motivated and committed to achieving business goals and excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience with using Anais, CVENT, Agency 360 and Opera Cloud will be an advantage. 
  • Excellent communication skills. Confident in negotiating to secure business ensuring the best outcome for clients and our hotel. 
  • Willing to undertake travel within Sydney for client appointments and occasional travel interstate for business trips, expos and meetings.
