Pullman & Mercure King George Square is a large vibrant 438 room twin towered hotel which acts as a sanctuary for leisure and business travelers. Located opposite King George Square, City Hall and ideally situated in the heart of Brisbane CBD the hotel has some of the largest conference spaces in Brisbane incorporating 2 ballrooms. The hotel also features some amazing and extremely popular venues of Goldfinch Restaurant and Street Café, Sixteen Antlers Rooftop Bar as well as KG Bar, Expresso Bar and an Executive Lounge.
We are currently seeking a passionate Commis Chef to join our friendly & professional Kitchen team & work to delivery breakfast each day. If you have a love for food and a desire to learn and grow in a dynamic environment, this is the perfect opportunity for you!

- Assist with ordering necessary food items accordingly to business needs and demands.
- Prepare mis-en place as required.
- Prepare and present menu items showing variety and flair, within the cost margins specified by the hotel.
- Ensure all ingredients are properly measured, weighed, and prepped for use.
- Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen at all times.
- Assist in the management of kitchen inventory, ensuring proper storage of food items and maintaining stock control procedures
- Adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance your culinary skills.
What you will bring to the role:
- Trade qualified Commis Chef with background in a hotel kitchen environment
- A real love for the early morning, with a smile
- Strong understanding of cooking techniques, food safety, and kitchen equipment.
- Use your innovative capabilities to delight guests in their culinary experience
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and HACCP, able to maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Showcase your passion and creative culinary skills and expertise.
