Novotel & Ibis Auckland Ellerslie is a bustling property just 15 minutes from the Auckland CBD which hosts a variety of guests to our food & beverage outlets including multiple conference spaces. Combined with our 247 contemporary guest rooms, we want to offer our guests an unforgettable experience. You will be working alongside the Executive Chef and Sous Chef to run our busy kitchen team. 


Job Description

  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef and Sous Chef, keeping lines of communication open between food and beverage production and service areas of the hotel
  • Supervise staff to ensure consistency and standards of presentation are provided for all meals
  • Contribute to the success of the hotel by understanding business levels - including hotel occupancies, inbound groups, conference requirements and any other groups dining in the hotel and share in daily briefings
  • Develop and maintain high standards of buffet presentations at all times

This is a permanent full time role with a rate of $32.64 per hour. 


Qualifications

Your experience and skills include:

  • You will have held the role of Senior Chef de Partie or similar, preferably in the hospitality sector
  • Strong people management and training skills
  • Mature and kind approach to managing a team
  • Basic administrative task for stock take, ordering and prep levels
  • Business acumen understanding the bigger picture beyond the day to day kitchen operations
