Job Description

The Butler plays a central role in delivering the Raffles signature luxury service — offering personalised, anticipatory, and discreet service across the entire guest journey (pre‑arrival, arrival, in‑house, departure, and post‑stay). The Butler builds strong personal rapport with guests, anticipates their needs, and facilitates a flawless and unforgettable stay. They serve as an ambassador of the hotel and are knowledgeable about all hotel departments and services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create personal connections and deliver emotional luxury service to guests
  • Participate in daily briefings and gather guest information to tailor experiences
  • Customize and manage guest check‑in, suite set‑up, orientation, and welcome amenities
  • Offer welcome drinks, bespoke itineraries, and dining recommendations
  • Anticipate and fulfill guest needs, including special celebrations or occasions
  • Provide services such as unpacking/packing, light laundry handling, and shoe‑shine
  • Ensure prompt and courteous service in all suites
  • Work closely with In‑Room Dining, Housekeeping, and other departments to ensure seamless service delivery
  • Customize in‑suite minibar and amenities according to guest preferences
  • Track “Do Not Disturb” rooms and report updates to leadership
  • Respond promptly to guest calls, messages, or emails and coordinate resolutions with respective teams
  • Maintain and clean Butler areas, guest suites, pantries, stores, equipment, and supplies
  • Handle departure arrangements and extend warm farewells to guests
  • Execute hotel sales/upsell strategies and assist in promoting in‑house restaurants and facilities
  • Uphold and deliver service according to Raffles SOP, Raffles Doha standards, Forbes 5‑Star and LQA expectations
  • Participate in special projects and assist other departments as needed

 


Qualifications

Qualifications & Skills

  • Previous experience as a Butler or in a  guest services role in a luxury hotel and/or resort
  • Strong knowledge of luxury service etiquette, in-suite dining service, and guest engagement techniques
  • Exceptional communication skills, emotional intelligence, and cultural awareness
  • Ability to remain calm and composed while handling multiple requests and high-profile guests
  • Fluent in English; additional languages are an advantage
  • Professional appearance, refined manners, and a genuine passion for delivering exceptional hospitality
