Job Description

  • Support the Director of Engineering in daily departmental operations, ensuring preventative maintenance and repairs for all mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and life-safety systems.

  • Oversee maintenance of the hotel’s building structure, grounds, and critical systems to protect owner assets.

  • Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and facilities, arranging timely repairs.

  • Assist in managing the engineering department budget and controlling operational costs.

  • Help plan and monitor CAPEX projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective completion.

  • Source and procure engineering supplies, tools, and services, ensuring quality and value.

  • Ensure compliance with local laws, safety codes, and Accor brand standards, especially regarding fire safety and life-safety systems.

  • Support health and safety initiatives, including drills, certifications, and emergency protocols.

  • Remain on-call for urgent engineering situations or emergencies.

  • Supervise, train, and guide engineering team members, delegating daily tasks effectively.

  • Act as technical lead when the Director of Engineering is absent.

  • Evaluate staff performance and recommend improvement plans.

  • Coordinate with other departments to resolve maintenance issues promptly for optimal guest satisfaction.

  • Lead or support special engineering projects and infrastructure upgrades.

  • Research and recommend new technologies, materials, and methods to improve efficiency.

  • Maintain records and reports related to maintenance schedules, inventories, and compliance.

  • Uphold Mövenpick and Accor’s commitment to sustainability in engineering operations.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil) or equivalent.

  • Proven experience in hotel engineering or similar hospitality environment.

  • Strong technical knowledge of building systems and maintenance operations.

  • Leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work under pressure and handle emergencies effectively.


Additional Information

Candidates with extensive experience in the hotel industry and strong market connections are preferred. Applicants with significant influence in the industry will have an advantage.
