JOB OVERVIEW:
Under the general guidance of the Director of Spa, the Spa Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the spa, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, service, and guest satisfaction. This role manages the spa team across multiple disciplines including therapists, attendants, and coordinators while ensuring seamless guest experiences, staff performance, operational efficiency, and strict adherence to brand standards. The Spa Manager plays a key role in guest relations, staff development, inventory control, and the overall wellness environment of the spa, with a focus on luxury service, team leadership, and operational excellence.
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate daily with the Director of Spa; provide shift updates and monthly reports
- Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of spa, equipment, and guest areas
- Manage therapists’ restocking of rooms and preparation of treatment products, coordinating with housekeeping and engineering for repairs
- Oversee spa attendants and locker room upkeep; ensure spa opens/closes on schedule
- Enforce staff dress code, punctuality, professionalism, and monitor therapist performance and guest feedback
- Manage therapist scheduling and shift coverage via Spa Soft to optimize labor
- Supervise reception staff, ensuring adequate coverage, smooth operations, and proper guest communication
- Handle guest services: greet guests, assist with services and retail, resolve issues, and maintain high satisfaction
- Coordinate group services with staff and external coordinators
- Lead spa staff performance reviews, disciplinary actions, and development plans
- Manage team coaching
- Oversee massage therapy supply inventory, purchase orders, and storage maintenance
- Lead Spa Attendants and equipment maintenance
- Manage daily Spa Soft operations, cash reporting, and staff scheduling to maximize efficiency
- We recognize we are in the hospitality industry and that may require us to provide lateral service. We will on occasion call for each individual in the team to on a routine basis perform various related tasks as needed in the spirit of providing exceptional guest service.
Qualifications
SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
- High school Diploma or equivalent education required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Minimum of 1-2 years' experience in a supervisory or management role within a spa or wellness environment preferably in an upscale or luxury lifestyle brand hotel
- Proven experience managing day spa operations or similar wellness facilities
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team
- Proficient in spa management software and general computer applications
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities to handle daily spa operations smoothly
- Exceptional customer service skills with a guest-focused mindset
- Flexible availability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and facility maintenance
- Knowledge of spa treatments, products, and industry trends
- Professional demeanor with a polished appearance and positive attitude
- Ability to collaborate effectively with other departments and vendors
- All team members must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance. Specific department uniform guidelines and/or required articles of clothing will be explained to you by your supervisor.
