Job Description

  • Responsible for the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of all Light Current (ELV - Extra Low Voltage) systems within the property to ensure safe, reliable, and uninterrupted operation of hotel facilities and guest services.
  • Operate, inspect, maintain, and repair all ELV/Light Current systems including:

Fire Alarm System (FAS)

Public Address System (PA)

CCTV Surveillance System

Access Control System

Building Management System (BMS)

Guest Room Management System (GRMS)

Telephone/PABX System

IPTV and SMATV Systems

Structured Cabling Network

Wi-Fi Infrastructure

Intercom Systems

Emergency Communication Systems

  • Carry out preventive maintenance according to the approved maintenance schedule.
  • Record maintenance activities in CMMS or maintenance logs.
  • Ensure all systems operate according to manufacturer specifications.
  • Diagnose and rectify faults in ELV systems promptly.
  • Respond to breakdown calls and emergency situations.
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs when required.

Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with local regulations, fire and life safety standards, and hotel policies.
  • Support fire alarm testing, emergency drills, and regulatory inspections.

Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and safe work procedures.

  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and equipment history.

Update system drawings, schematics, and asset registers when modifications -occur.

  • Report recurring issues and recommend corrective actions.
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by HOD.

Qualifications

  • Diploma, Technical Certificate, or College / Vocational Training in:
    • Electronics Engineering
    • Electrical Engineering
    • Telecommunications
    • Information Technology
    • Building Services Engineering

Experience

  • Minimum 1 year experience in ELV/Light Current systems.
  • Experience in hotels, resorts, hospitals, airports, or commercial buildings preferred.
  • Experience with integrated Building Management Systems is an advantage.
