Job Description

 

Job Title: Senior Prep & Stores Chef de Partie   

Department: F&B Culinary                               

Inspired and Supported by: Head Chef and Executive Chef

Salary: £44,610 (including service charge) , 48-hour permanent contract

 

Your purpose will be: To oversee the preparation and storage of high-quality ingredients, ensuring operational efficiency and excellence in Savoy kitchens while maintaining the highest food safety and quality standards.

 

You will be accountable for:

  • Managing the preparation, portioning, and storage of all ingredients required for, including proteins, produce, and dry goods.
  • Ensuring proper stock rotation and maintaining optimal inventory levels in the prep and storage areas.
  • Supervising the receipt, inspection, and organization of deliveries to meet quality and safety standards.
  • Supporting the events and the kitchen teams by ensuring all prep work is completed to the highest standard and on time.
  • Upholding rigorous hygiene and cleanliness standards in all storage and prep areas.
  • Training and mentoring junior team members in preparation and storage best practices.
  • Collaborating with the Events Kitchen team to ensure seamless execution of menus and event requirements.
  • Oversee and support all kitchen operations involving bulk preparation, including stocks and sauces.

Qualifications

What you will need to do in this role?

  • Demonstrate strong organizational and leadership skills to manage prep and storage operations efficiently.
  • Ensure all ingredients are properly prepared, stored, and readily available for the kitchen team during service.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory, deliveries, and waste management to support cost control.
  • Exhibit attention to detail and commitment to high-quality standards in all tasks.
  • Work collaboratively with the Events Kitchen team to meet event deadlines and guest expectations.
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety, hygiene, and health regulations.
  • Take ownership of your section, proactively addressing challenges and supporting the team.

Please note that we believe in flexibility and multi-skilling, and you may be asked to do different tasks from time to time to enable us to meet the needs of our guests and colleagues.
