Job Description
We invite you to join the world of luxury hospitality at Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge, as our new Engineering Laborer. As a Sanitation Attendant at The Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge your care and attention to detail will ensure that our guests have a memorable stay in the Canadian Rockies.
What you will be doing:
Reporting to the Director, Engineering, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Consistently offers professional, engaging and friendly service
- Follow all company policies, procedures, service standards and operational guidelines
- Provide quality work in keeping with Brand standards outlined by supervisor
- Collecting garbage, cardboard and recyclables from bins, containers, and public spaces
- Transport and dispose of waste materials at approved recycling and disposal facilities in compliance with environmental regulations.
- Follow all health, safety, sanitation, and environmental policies, including completing required documentation and inspections
- Able to drive standard operational vehicles such as pickup truck, garbage truck, forklift and skyreach lift.
- Serve as backup relief Laborer and perform all associated duties when assigned
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of waste management, storage, and work areas
- Safely operate tools such as hand tools, chainsaw, hoist, rigging material, log splitter
- Adhere to the hotel’s vehicle handling and safety policies while driving hotel vehicles

- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Your experience and skills include:
- Previous experience is an asset
- High school and/or technical school education
- Must be in excellent physical condition
- Able to repair and replace brick pathways
- Ability to work safely and ensure co-workers are working safely and adhering to the JPL safe work practices and confined space operations
- Must be self-motivated and able to work independently
- Mechanically inclined and able to operate equipment an asset
- Mechanical/Maintenance experience an asset
- Must possess a Valid Alberta driver’s license
Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
