Hotel Overview:

Located in the heart of downtown Fairmont New Orleans will be an impressive new addition to Fairmont’s luxury portfolio, offering 250 luxury guest rooms, four food & drink venues, a rooftop pool with expansive views of the city, more than 19,000 square feet of function space, and a 10,000 square-foot spa.

This property is destined to become an illustrious destination in the Central Business District, nearby the city’s renowned and historic French Quarter.

The Third Measure Runner supports the Front of House team by ensuring food and beverage orders are delivered promptly, accurately, and with polished presentation. This position plays an important role in maintaining the pace, organization, and elevated atmosphere of Third Measure while supporting Servers, Bartenders, and other team members. 

Responsibilities:

• Support Servers and Bartenders in delivering seamless, professional, and engaging guest experiences
• Deliver food and beverage orders promptly and accurately to tables and designated guest areas 
• Verify orders for accuracy, completeness, presentation, temperature, and special requests before delivery 
• Maintain knowledge of Third Measure's food and beverage offerings, including ingredients, allergens, preparation methods, and daily features  
• Communicate dietary restrictions, allergies, and special requests accurately to the appropriate team members  
• Assist Servers with clearing and resetting tables  
• Remove used plates, glassware, utensils, and service items promptly and safely  
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of service stations, dining areas, and guest pathways  
• Stock service stations with glassware, silverware, napkins, menus, condiments, and other supplies 
• Safely transport trays, food, beverages, dishware, and service equipment  
• Communicate effectively with Servers, Bartenders, Barbacks, Culinary, Stewarding, Hosts, and leadership  
• Assist with VIP experiences, special occasions, private events, and high-volume service  
• Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests
• Communicate guest concerns or service issues to Servers or leadership 
• Maintain awareness of the intimate and elevated atmosphere expected within Third Measure 
• Assist with opening and closing duties, stocking, cleaning, and resetting service areas  
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, health, and workplace safety procedures 
• Maintain a polished and professional appearance  
• Uphold Fairmont New Orleans luxury hospitality standards 
• Perform additional duties as assigned  

• Previous restaurant, food runner, banquet, hotel, lounge, or hospitality experience preferred 
• Luxury hotel, upscale dining, or cocktail lounge experience is an asset  
• Strong communication and teamwork skills  
• Excellent attention to detail  
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to remain professional and composed during high-volume service  
• Positive, energetic, and service-oriented attitude  
• Professional appearance and polished demeanor required 
• Ability to work late-night schedules, evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts 
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States  
• Must possess or be able to obtain required Louisiana food safety certifications
