Rooms Division Manager

Peppers Beacon is located a short five-minute walk from the centre of Queenstown, also known as the “Adventure Capital” of New Zealand. With uninterrupted lake front views of Lake Wakitipu and stunning mountain ranges, Peppers Beacon offers a range of accommodation from hotel style rooms to large multi-level apartments and a breakfast room for guests to start their day. During your down time, there is no short of activities to choose. From skiing to bungy jumping, for that adrenaline rush or if vineyards and scenic tours are more your speed, there is something for everyone in the historical mining town of Queenstown.



Purpose

As the Rooms Division Manager, your key role is to ensure the seamless operation of the Front Office and Housekeeping departments, all geared toward achieving exceptional guest satisfaction. Your collaborative partnership with the General Manager will be instrumental in driving revenue growth.

 

Location: Peppers Beacon, 34 Lake Esplanade, Queenstown 9300, New Zealand

Pay rate: NZD$36.00 - $37.00 hourly 

Contract: Permanent Full-Time 

Hours: 30-48 hours weekly

Qualifications: ANZSCO Skill Level 2 - Diploma or 3 years of relevant experience 

 

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Champion exceptional customer service standards, ensuring that guests' needs are met promptly and effectively
  • Provide support and guidance to Department Heads (where applicable) to enhance the effective management of all team members
  • Cultivate an environment of open communication and operational efficiency among departments to ensure the overall financial success of the property
  • Maintain a forward-thinking business perspective, actively seeking opportunities to expand and retain owner and guest business within the property
  • Lead by example by consistently delivering passionate, knowledgeable, and friendly service to both external and internal guests
  • Address issues and challenges proactively, finding innovative solutions to ensure a seamless guest experience
  • Coach and mentor team members for their career growth, while leveraging networking and learning opportunities for your own development

 

Skills and Experience

  • Experience as a Rooms Division Manager or department head within Front Office or Housekeeping
  • Strong financial acumen and understanding of revenue management
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and work well under pressure
  • Proficiency in conflict resolution and crisis management
  • You foster a can – do approach with impeccable attention to detail and exceptional time management skills
  • Flexible availability to accommodate various shifts, including weekends and public holidays as required
