Job Description

Position Purpose

The Regional Director of Finance & Business Development provides strategic financial leadership and commercial direction. The role partners closely owners to optimize financial performance,  support expansion and development initiatives, and ensure full compliance with corporate financial standards and regulatory obligations.

This role combines a forward‑looking business‑development focus, supporting feasibility, new openings, investment analysis, and growth initiatives.

Core Responsibilities

  • Financial Leadership & Performance Management
  • Provide strategic financial guidance to owners
  • Monitor compliance with corporate policies, HMA agreements, ownership agreements, and local regulations.

Business Development & Expansion Support

  • Partner with development teams to evaluate new hotel opportunities, including feasibility studies, pro‑forma reviews, investment returns, and financial due diligence.
  • Support pre‑opening finance activities: budgeting, systems readiness, recruitment of finance leaders, and owner alignment.
  • Provide commercial insights to support brand growth, conversions, and repositioning opportunities.
  • Prepare business cases to support CAPEX requests, renovations, and strategic reinvestment.

Owner & Asset Manager Relations

  • Maintain strong relationships with owners and asset managers; lead financial reviews and performance updates.
  • Provide transparent reporting, explain variances, and present return‑on‑investment considerations.
  • Act as an advocate for both the brand and ownership to ensure alignment on long‑ and short‑term objectives.

Risk, Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure full compliance with corporate financial controls, audit frameworks, insurance requirements, and legal obligations.
  • Implement regional risk‑management strategies, including tax compliance, banking oversight, and insurance review.

Key Internal Relationships:

  • Corporate Office / Legal / Ownership teams

Key External Relationships:

  • Ownership Groups & Asset Managers
  • Auditors, Legal Counsel, Consultants
  • Banks, Insurance Partners, Suppliers

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; CPA, ACCA, or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum 5–10 years of senior hotel finance leadership, ideally with multi‑property or regional exposure.
  • Strong commercial acumen, analytical capability, and executive‑level communication.
  • Experience partnering with owners and supporting hotel development initiatives.
  • Proven ability to lead large teams, influence multiple stakeholders, and navigate complex regional environments.
