This is a hands‑on leadership role in a fast‑paced, guest‑focused environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead, coach, and inspire the reception team to deliver friendly, efficient, and consistent service
  • Oversee front desk operations including check-in, check-out, reservations, billing, and guest enquiries
  • Act as a key point of contact for guests, handling feedback and resolving issues with professionalism and care
  • Manage rotas, shift coverage, end‑of‑day procedures, banking, and room reconciliation
  • Work closely with Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, and other departments to ensure a seamless guest journey
  • Support on-boarding and ongoing development of team members
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to performance, quality, and guest satisfaction targets
  • Ensure compliance with Accor standards, hotel procedures, and health & safety requirements
  • Step in to support Food & Beverage operations when needed during busy periods

Health, Safety & Wellbeing

  • Follow Accor Health, Safety, and Environment policies at all times
  • Take part in required training and report hazards, incidents, or injuries promptly
  • Support fire, evacuation, food hygiene, and safe working practices
  • Contribute to risk assessments, energy conservation, and correct use of equipment

Qualifications

What You Bring

  • At least 1 year of experience in a team leader or supervisory role within hospitality
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a hotel or guest‑facing environment
  • A natural people‑leader with strong communication and problem‑solving skills
  • Organised, adaptable, and calm under pressure
  • Confident using hotel systems and Microsoft Office
  • Flexible to work shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • A genuine passion for hospitality and making every guest feel welcome
  • Right to work in the UK is essential (sponsorship is not available)

Additional Information

What We Offer You

  • Competitive salary of £27,703.70 per year
  • Discounted stays across Accor hotels worldwide
  • Pension scheme
  • Ongoing training and development opportunities within Accor
  • Free meals while on duty
  • 28 days holiday
  • Free car parking

A Day in the Life

No two days are the same at IBIS. As a Shift Leader, you’ll guide your team through busy arrivals, support guests with their needs, assist with reservations and admin tasks, and step into Food & Beverage service when required. You’ll motivate your team, support new starters, and help ensure every guest leaves feeling welcome and cared for.

Why Join IBIS Birmingham New Street?

You’ll be part of a close‑knit, supportive team where collaboration, individuality, and development are encouraged. At Accor, we recognise talent, support growth, and create opportunities — because when our people thrive, our guests do too.
