Job Description

We have a unique opportunity become available for a Full time Purchasing Officer to join our diverse, passionate and outgoing team of professionals.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, your duties include:

  • To be responsible for the sourcing, selection and purchase of goods and services as per required specifications, ensuring quality and best prices criteria are met
  • To comply with the Accor National Purchasing Procurement Policies
  • Participate in inventory stocktakes in the stores and outlets at month end or when required by management
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers
  • Follow up any purchasing queries and inventory analysis
  • Responsible for the replacement of inventory including price comparisons, delivery time and follow up
  • Ensure the quoted prices and supplier codes are kept up to date in the computer system

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in Purchasing within a hotel setting is an asset
  • Relevant tertiary qualification desirable however not essential
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Excellent Microsoft office skills
  • Experience with Sun Systems and Purchase Plus preferred
  • Authentic customer service, interpersonal & communication skills with the ability to make people-centric decisions.
  • Interpersonal skill to deal with various business stakeholders in an effective and professional manner
  • Previous warehouse / stores experience is preferred
  • Proven accurate data entry record
  • Physically able to lift and carry large stock
