Job Description

Assist the Purchasing Manger to coordinate and manage the overall operations of the Purchasing and Storeroom Department to ensure that the hotel has adequate supplies to perform their duties in an efficient manner.

 

KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure that the department works closely with the chef and the Food & Beverage Director to purchase the highest quality products at the lowest prices
  • Ensure that all purchase order requests are properly completed and approved
  • Negotiate food prices, & non –food prices, place required daily orders and ensure prompt delivery
  • Maintain a filing system for product information and price comparison etc.
  • Ensure comparison prices are correctly and timely updated into our system
  • Generate purchase orders on approval requisitions and obtain necessary authorization
  • Obtain competitive price quotations and confirm purchase availability
  • Coordinate regular inventories with storeroom personnel and department heads
  • Coordinate capital project purchases with corporate purchasing and outside contractors
  • Ensure long outstanding delivery Purchase Order are follow-up with supplier for immediate delivery
  • Manage the department during periods when the Purchasing Manager is out of office.

 

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations
  • Knowledge of effective office organizational practices
  • Ability to process information and merchandise through computer systems (Future Log knowledge will be advantage)
  • Ability to use all Purchase Codes and complete shipping documentation
  • Ability to operate and manage all necessary equipment 
  • Ability to move and handle merchandise throughout the Hotel
  • Ability to work varied hours/days to oversee Hotel purchasing operations

 

     


    Qualifications

     

    • College diploma or equivalent qualifications
    • Minimum 2 years of purchasing experience with at least 1 year at a supervisory level in a 5-star hotel
