Job Description

Purchasing & Receiving Manager

Keep our hotel running at full capacity as Purchasing & Receiving Manager, leading your stores team by example and controlling hotel inventory. You will liaise with both internal and external customers to keep the hotel fully stocked in all areas of food and beverage, overseeing the mail room and loading bay, raising POs and sourcing new vendors.

Salary Range: $72,000 to $76,000 per annum, dependent on experience and education

What you will be doing:

  • Purchase food, beverage, guest supplies, repairs and maintenance items at the best price possible
  • Conduct regular market survey pricing of all items and services for the hotel
  • Ensure all purchase order requests are properly completed for approval before a purchase order is prepared and items are purchased
  • Maintain all documents and files with regards to purchases made and suppliers used
  • Monitor the purchasing control procedures
  • Follow departmental policies and procedures
  • Works with F&B department to assure slow moving products are used up and wine lists do not result in excessive inventories
  • Organize monthly count of Central storeroom inventories
  • Negotiates and manages property level agreements based on a competitive purchasing process
  • Negotiates best product / service at the best price at the right time
  • Seeks and develops purchasing strategies to identify cost savings opportunities

Qualifications

  • Previous experience with ordering of hotel goods and services.
  • Previous storeroom and receiving experience an asset.
  • Ability to source new vendors to maximize purchasing power
  • Superior level skills in computer technology, including BirchStreet, Inventory, and the Group Purchasing Organization Avendra.
  • Excellent administrative, interpersonal and organizational skills.
