Company Description

The Hoxton, Dublin

The Hoxton has just opened its very first hotel in Ireland in the beautiful capital city of Dublin. This coastal city is steeped in history, packed with green parks and brought to life through music, art and the best social eating and drinking. The Hoxton, Dublin is home to 129 bedrooms of varying sizes, a lobby bar, historic bar, large ground floor restaurant and lobby restaurant, in addition to another first for us - a nightclub.

More about us…

The Hoxton is a series of open-house hotels, each in a neighbourhood that we love. Ever since we opened our first hotel in Shoreditch, we’ve never just been about offering a bed for the night. We want to be more than that: proving style doesn’t need to be sacrificed for good value and providing a place where guests can hang out alongside the locals and submerse themselves in the neighbourhood with vibrant, welcoming public spaces.

We’re looking for a Painter & Maintenance Technician to keep the hotel looking immaculate, safe, and in excellent working order for guests and colleagues. You will help maintain the hotel’s interior and exterior through high‑quality painting, repair work, and general maintenance and support a safe, well‑presented environment across bedrooms, public areas, and back‑of‑house spaces.

Job Description

What you’ll do…

  • Carry out interior and exterior painting, including preparation, priming, sanding, and high‑quality finishing.
  • Complete regular touch‑ups to bedrooms, corridors, and public areas to maintain presentation standards.
  • Repair and restore walls, ceilings, woodwork, and other surfaces as needed.
  • Perform basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general repair tasks within your competence.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and team members.
  • Inspect rooms and key areas regularly and help ensure they are guest‑ready.
  • Assemble and repair furniture and fixtures where required.
  • Support refurbishment projects, planned maintenance, events, and seasonal décor.
  • Follow all safety protocols, use PPE correctly, and ensure compliance with fire, health and safety, and environmental regulations.

Qualifications

What we’re looking for…

  • Experience as a painter/decorator or all‑round maintenance operative.
  • Strong practical skills, good problem‑solving, and an eye for detail.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and communicate clearly with the team.
  • Hotel or commercial building experience and relevant trade qualifications are an advantage.
  • Physical fitness to handle the demands of a hands-on role, including manual tasks, lifting, and working at heights (reasonable adjustments available as required by law).
