Job Description

To provide prompt and courteous F&B service to the Hotel’s guests.

Key Roles & Responsibilities 

  • Update the whiteboard daily (AM).
  • Prepare daily cashiering and operational forms.
  • Accurately and efficiently handle and account for cash with integrity, following established accounting procedures.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of menus and wine lists, with up-to-date information on specialties and menu changes.
  • Regularly coordinate with the culinary team regarding item availability.
  • Answer all phone calls promptly and professionally, using the correct greeting.
  • Follow correct order-taking procedures and provide appropriate recommendations to guests.
  • Proactively seize opportunities to upsell IRD food and beverage products.
  • Perform proper cashiering procedures in accordance with Raffles standards.
  • Maintain a clean, neat, and organized order-taker cabin throughout service.
  • Ensure proper preparation of all required operational materials in the order-taker cabin and pantry areas.
  • Report guest comments to the supervisor and complete guest preference forms accordingly.
  • Handle operating equipment conscientiously and maintain the department in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Prepare beverage storeroom requisitions for approval by the IRD Manager.
  • Communicate with internal and external customers in a polite, courteous, and constructive manner.
  • Learn and comply with safety, sanitation, and hygiene policies.
  • Participate in internal training sessions and required meetings.
  • Maintain good working relationships with colleagues and all other departments.
  • Actively promote the services and facilities of Raffles The Palm to guests and hotel partners.
  • Report any deviations from established standards and procedures to the manager.
  • Ensure amenities are sent to guest rooms according to the rooming list and Raffles The Palm standards.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of all food and beverage services, outlets, hotel services, features, and operating hours.
  • Adhere to Raffles The Palm telephone standards.
  • Control and maintain delivery timing in accordance with Raffles The Palm standards.

Qualifications

  • Average reading, writing, and oral proficiency in English
  • Must be well-presented and professionally groomed at all times
  • Able to account for and handle cash effectively and efficiently
  • Good communication and customer service skills; strong problem-solving abilities
  • Basic food and beverage product knowledge, with a focus on wine
  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail
  • Secondary education completed
  • Minimum of one year of food and beverage service experience
  • Previous experience in public contact and/or cashiering
