Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Operations Engineer to join our Engineering Department at Swissotel Wellness Resort Alatau Almaty. The Engineer will be responsible for supporting the Chief Engineer in coordinating departmental operations, maintaining accurate documentation, monitoring utilities consumption, and ensuring smooth and safe functioning of technical systems throughout the hotel.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Chief Engineer in the organization and daily coordination of the Engineering Department.

  • Manage technical documentation, correspondence, and records according to hotel standards.

  • Receive, register, and follow up on maintenance requests from hotel departments, ensuring timely resolution and proper tracking in the “Truva” system.

  • Prepare purchase requests for materials, spare parts, and equipment in coordination with the Procurement Department.

  • Maintain daily records of electricity, water, and heating consumption; prepare monthly utility usage reports for the Finance Department.

  • Monitor stock movements, maintain minimum/maximum inventory levels, and assist in conducting inventories of technical materials and fixed assets.

  • Process incoming and outgoing correspondence and ensure timely distribution.

  • Prepare meeting materials, keep minutes of departmental meetings, and circulate them internally.

  • Coordinate schedules, time sheets, and attendance records for Engineering Department employees.

  • Support the Chief Engineer in communication with external service providers, utility companies, and government authorities.

  • Ensure compliance with occupational health & safety, fire safety, and hygiene regulations within technical operations.

  • Assist in onboarding and training initiatives for departmental staff.

  • Perform translations of documents when required.

  • Contribute to a positive work environment by demonstrating teamwork, responsibility, and professionalism.


Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or technical diploma in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience, preferably in hospitality or large facilities operations.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Solid understanding of technical documentation, facility maintenance procedures, and utility monitoring.

  • Knowledge of inventory control, procurement processes, and reporting.

  • Familiarity with administrative procedures, correspondence handling, and document archiving.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and relevant technical systems (e.g., Truva).

  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners.

  • Proficiency in English and Kazakh (spoken and written).

  • Knowledge of safety standards, labor regulations, and hotel brand standards.
