Job Description

JO&JOE is a new hostel in Auckland! And is looking for its next Night Audit / Relief Night Manager.
Come and write a page in the history of JO&JOE, by being part of the opening team! The Night Audit / Relief Night Manager is a dual-role night owl who keeps our records sharp while the city sleeps.

Why you?

None of these night-time missions will scare you:

  • Mission 1: Be the main point of contact for guests overnight, handling check-ins, check-outs, and late-night queries with a warm, professional attitude.
  • Mission 2: Ensure the safety and security of guests, staff, and the property during the night shift.
  • Mission 3: Respond calmly and efficiently to emergencies or incidents, following established procedures.
  • Mission 4: Coordinate with housekeeping and maintenance to ensure public areas are tidy and ready for the next day.
  • Mission 5: Complete nightly financial audits, reconcile transactions, and prepare handover reports for the morning team.
  • Mission 6: Step into the Night Manager role with confidence, supporting the team, resolving issues, and keeping operations smooth while they’re off duty.
  • Mission 7: Uphold JO&JOE’s standards of service, hospitality, and community spirit, even in the quiet hours.

Qualifications

Because you’ve got it in you:

  • Previous experience in hospitality, especially in front office or night audit roles, is a big plus.
  • You’re confident working independently and making sound decisions during quiet hours.
  • Calm, friendly, and professional under pressure, especially when handling guest queries or unexpected situations.
  • You’ve got a strong sense of responsibility and attention to detail, especially when it comes to financial audits and reporting.
  • You follow safety, security, and emergency procedures with precision.
  • You’re eager to learn, grow, and contribute to a vibrant team culture.

YOUR LITTLE EXTRAS ARE:

  • Experience with property management systems is a plus (We use MEWS).
  • Language required: English
