Job Description
We invite you to join the world of luxury hospitality at Fairmont Grand Del Mar, as our new Massage Therapist.
Responsibilities
- Administer massage and other body treatments to spa guests according to treatment outline.
- Greet guest with proper salutation and a smile.
- Assess and accommodate guest needs inquiring about their physical well being in order to perform appropriate service.
- Desire and ability to educate and sell products to guests and staff.
- Maintain availability and dedication to The Center for Wellbeing at the Fairmont Grand Del Mar, being available to work weekends, holidays, and evenings.
- Explain treatment services and products to guests in a knowledgeable, professional and thorough manner.
- Be knowledgeable and informed regarding all massage/body treatments, general spa and resort programs and services.
- Participate in and contribute to staff meetings, training, product knowledge classes and team efforts.
- Provide necessary information to compile complete guest records.
- Promote and execute effective retail sales.
- Maintain a clean, organized and safe working environment.
- Abide by all California State Board guidelines.
- Comply with all Fairmont Grand Del Mar Company safety and health policies and procedures.
- Uphold and maintain the cleanliness and neatness of the treatment areas and Spa facilities.
- Conduct tours of the facility as requested.
- Provide necessary information to compile complete guest records.
- Treat all sensitive personal medical information on guest in strictest confidence.
- Report any problems incurred immediately to the Lead Massage Provider or the Spa Treatments Manager.
- Report for scheduled shifts promptly and ready to work.
- Maintain a positive, guest service oriented attitude and a sense of humor. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or manager
Qualifications
- Must be professional, service oriented, accurate, gentle and work with attention to detail, striving to exceed the expectations of every guest every time.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required. Knowledge of Microsoft Office application, Spa Soft (will train) and basic accounting principles.
- Excellent personal appearance, good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to handle stressful situations professionally and multitask with ease all while focusing on the guest. Knowledge of guest service and/or hospitality industry a plus.
- Minimum two years administrating massage/body treatment services in a luxury resort or spa setting preferred.
Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to perform repetitive massage movements throughout the shift
- Ability to lift and carry spa supplies up to 25 lbs
- Physical stamina to perform multiple treatments per shift
- Frequent standing, bending, and reaching throughout the shift.
- Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, sitting, and climbing stairs, ramps, or ladders.
Wage Information
The hourly rate for this position is $19.00
