Job Description

What you will be doing:

  • Prioritise and respond to daily maintenance requests to ensure the smooth running of the hotel
  • Ensuring the guest experience is memorable and positive through the maintenance of the hotel facilities
  • Plan and carry out preventive maintenance throughout the hotel
  • Manage complex projects to deliver a luxury product and service
  • Responsible for the overall energy management and conservation of the hotel
  • Manage the engagement of contractors within the hotel, ensuring work is to standard, to manufacturers specification, in line with legislative requirements and completed within budget and on time
  • Routine management of fire alarms and emergency lighting
  • Chief Warden responsibilities
  • Assisting hotel management with emergencies and maintenance issues and incidents
  • Ensure all staff are competent in the safe and effective use of equipment and chemicals
  • Actively participate in activities to support the Accor and Sofitel Risk Management program


Your experience and skills include:

  • Experience in a similar maintenance or facilities management role, within a hotel would be highly advantageous
  • A qualified and practical engineer with understanding of all aspects of hotel maintenance, including WHS, contractor management, plant & equipment management
  • Demonstrated ability in managing a team effectively
  • Self-motivated, problem solver, well organised
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work according to operational requirements and demands, which may include early, late and weekend shifts
