Job Description
Maintenance Assistant
Join our team as a Maintenance Assistant and help keep our hotel running smoothly. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys problem-solving, takes pride in their work, and has a genuine can-do attitude.
Reporting to the Rooms Division Manager you will be working across guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities, you'll be responsible for completing general repairs, preventative maintenance, and ensuring the hotel is safe, functional, and well-presented for our guests and team members.
What you'll be doing:
- Carrying out general maintenance and repair work throughout the hotel
- Completing preventative maintenance tasks and inspections
- Assisting with basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry work
- Responding to maintenance requests in a timely manner
- Maintaining a safe working environment and following Health & Safety procedures
- Building positive relationships with team members and guests
Qualifications
Key Requirements
- Previous handyman or maintenance experience.
- Basic skills in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry.
- Ability to follow Health & Safety procedures.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritise workloads.
- Good level of physical fitness and professional presentation.
- Positive can-do attitude and guest-focused approach.
- Flexible to work weekends and public holidays as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete general maintenance and repair work.
- Carry out preventative maintenance and complete maintenance tasklists.
- Respond to maintenance requests promptly.
- Maintain guest rooms, equipment, and hotel facilities.
- Build positive relationships with guests and colleagues across the hotel.
