Job Description

  1. Regularly wash and iron laundry belonging to the personnel and guests, according to the Laundry Supervisor’s instructions. 

  1. Wash and iron the laundry according to the washing and ironing instructions. 

  1. If familiar with dry cleaning methods, dry clean the laundry by separating according to the type and colour of the fabric. 

  1. Comply with cleaning and hygiene rules. 

  1. To wash and iron all items according to the Supervisor’s instructions and deliver them on time. 

  1. Report any breakdowns and machines that need maintenance to the Laundry Supervisor. 

  1. Identify the materials needed and inform the Laundry Supervisor. 

  1. Carry out the maintenance procedures for the equipment used (washing machine, dryer, dirty laundry units etc.) and make sure they are ready for the next shift. 

  1. Separate and wash laundry according to the fabric, colour and stain level. 

  1. Use different washing cycles depending on the laundry and, when necessary, treat the stains. 

  1. To discard worn and torn items by recording and reporting such items to the Laundry Supervisor. 

  1. Take measures against fires and accidents. 

  1. Implement the hotel procedures (keys, lost and found etc.). 

  1. Control the guest laundry lists, check the pockets and hand back any forgotten items to the guest. 

  1. Label the laundry with the guest’s room number. Control the guest’s laundry that has been cleaned and send back any items that have not been properly ironed. 

  1. Hang or package guest’s laundry as demanded. 

  2. Prepare laundry price lists, charge the fee in the micros system and send a copy to the Front Office. 

  3. Inform the Housekeeping Office of the room number for any undeliverable items due to DND and slip a note under the door notifying that the service could not be delivered. 

  4. Is familiar with the ironing methods for textile products with different characteristics. 

  5. Wear a uniform, pay attention to personal hygiene and proper look. Is reliable. 

  6. Carry out all responsibilities related to the quality management systems implemented at the facilities. 

  7. Carry out all other duties assigned by managers and hotel management not specified in the job description. 


Qualifications

  • Education: At least a primary school diploma. 

  • Experience: At least 1 year of experience in the related field. 

  • Foreign Language: Not expected. 

  • Courses and Training:  Prior attendance in courses and seminars in the related field.  

  • Computer Literacy: Not expected. 

  • Skills: Expected to have sufficient knowledge and experience concerning the methods, techniques and work processes in the related field. Is familiar with guest profiles based on his/her experience. Is reliable, aware of personal hygiene, in good health to perform the job, can express him/herself well and communicate easily, is presentable, eager to learn and work in this area, has a sense of responsibility, is disciplined, respectful and friendly.
