Job Description

Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:               

  • Be aware of all hotel services and promotions in order to assist any Guest or Colleague.
  • Review all group resumes and BEO’s in order to ensure the successful completion of all IRD responsibilities as outlined in the resumes or BEO’s.
  • Keep an up-to-date knowledge of the menu, beverage list and wine list as well as ensure that all Colleagues do the same.
  • Ensure that standards are, maintained and all documentation pertaining to the standards are utilized (i.e. F&B basics, process briefs, JTC’s, etc) in the shift.
  • In addition, carry out or assist the Manager / Assistant Manager in training & development activities for the Colleagues.
  • Ensure the proper organization of all service equipment.
  • Ensure proper mis en place and station set up to ensure a smooth operation.
  • Assure that the shift hand over to the next shift is done according to the Leader’s checklist pertaining to each shift.
  • Check presence of staff and physical appearance & grooming standards are maintained.
  • Supervise and assist in service for VIPs.
  • Check outgoing orders for accurate set ups.
  • Do daily food and beverage requisitions.
  • Coordinate Floor checks and Guest room pick ups.
  • Oversee equipment breakdown and linen sorting.
  • Ensure communication with oncoming shift supervisor / leader.
  • Handle Guests’ requests and complaints / reports them to Assistant Manager / Manager.
  • Maintain communication between IRD and all supporting departments.
  • Maintain a good working relationship with all fellow Colleagues and leaders in IRD as well as supporting departments.
  • Check tray and table set up to ensure departmental standards are always maintained.
  • Perform cleanliness and maintenance of all equipment.
  • Be present on the floor of operation & in doing so, ensures the following:
    • Check outgoing orders for accurate set ups
    • Support order deliveries if necessary
    • Support order taking process if necessary
    • Audit standards and takes note of Guest feedback in order to make positive changes to the product / service offering of IRD
  • Ensure communication with oncoming shift supervisor / leader.
  • Conduct shift briefings for Colleagues.
  • Ensure that departmental logbook and pass off is completed, ensuring follow up on any outstanding issues from Pass off. 
  • Coordinate amenity orders, preparation and delivery.
  • Oversee RC operation, ensuring all departmental policies are adhered to provide support & back up as & when deemed necessary.
  • Check VIP list and follows up on all deliveries.
  • Maintain communication between IRD and all supporting departments.
  • Maintain Master key / key control system in place.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Must possess outstanding Guest services skills, professional presentation and sophisticated communication skills.
  • Proficient in the English language (verbal & written), second language is an asset.
  • Must be able to handle a multitude of tasks in an intense, ever changing environment while remaining calm and collective.
  • Must be flexible in terms of working hours.
  • Must know various food & beverage terminologies.
  • Working knowledge of Micros & MS Office is must.
  • 2 years minimum experience in Food and Beverage.

Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):

  • Standing and walking throughout shift
  • Frequent lifting and carrying up to 20 lbs
  • Frequent pushing and bending
