Job Description

ibis Astana is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Controller to join our team in Astana, Kazakhstan. As the Financial Controller, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the financial operations of our hotel and driving financial performance.

  • Manage all aspects of the hotel's financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
  • Develop and implement financial strategies to optimize revenue and control costs
  • Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks
  • Ensure compliance with local and international financial regulations and standards
  • Collaborate with department heads to develop and monitor budgets
  • Manage cash flow and maintain relationships with banks and financial institutions
  • Supervise and mentor the finance team, promoting professional development and efficiency
  • Implement and maintain internal financial controls to safeguard company assets
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to the General Manager and corporate leadership

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; 
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management, preferably in the hospitality industry
  • Strong proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Expert knowledge of accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • In-depth understanding of hospitality industry financial practices and regulations
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of Kazakh or Russian is a plus
