Job Description

Duties & Responsibilities

  • To have a complete knowledge of chemical products and their proper and economical use.
  • To have a complete knowledge of all Housekeeping machines and equipment for operation and maintenance as dictated in the Operations Manual.
  • To clean and maintain thoroughly the offices, staircases, public, and back-of-house areas
  • To inspect all facilities, furniture, and fixtures and report any damages to the Housekeeping Manager and ensure their follow-up.
  • To ensure that all areas of responsibility are properly staffed, supervised, and operating smoothly.
  • To distribute and control the use of master keys.
  • To ensure proper handling, storage, and receiving of Lost and Found items.
  • To carry out special projects accordingly to assignments.
  • To ensure that the housekeeping Attendants exercise proper discipline and courtesy in attending to the Guests' needs.
  • To supervise the Employees within the Department, ensuring that correct standards and methods of service are maintained as stated in the Departmental Operations Manual.
  • To ensure that all Employees are treated fairly and consistently as outlined in their terms and conditions of employment, local legislation, and Company policies and procedures.
  • To pass on suggestions, comments, and recommendations of guests to the Senior Supervisor
  • To study and evaluate the operations/procedures and suggest improvements to the Senior Supervisor. 
  • To be responsible for the preparation, distribution, acceptance, recording, and filing of all forms and reports in the Housekeeping Office.
  • To ensure the maintenance and cleanliness of all Housekeeping equipment and schedule necessary preventive maintenance and repair work.
  • To ensure the constant informing of the Senior Supervisor Housekeeping of progress and status of each area of responsibility by walking through the public areas with the Senior Supervisor Housekeeping and pointing out what has changed from the week before.
  • To advise the Housekeeping Attendants of VIP rooms, blocked rooms, and early up rooms, as well as late checkouts.
  • To ensure that all VIP rooms are set up according to Sofitel standards and VIP codes. To refresh flowers when needed and contact Room Service about refreshing guest amenities.
  • To coordinate with Room Service the Mini Bar operation to avoid loss and to obtain the maximum vacant rooms for sale.
  • To coordinate with the Front Office about VIP’s, unexpected departures and extended stays and room changes.

Qualifications

Supervise daily housekeeping operations and team performance.

  • Ensure guest rooms and public areas meet cleanliness and quality standards.
  • Coordinate with Front Office and other departments regarding room status and VIP requests.
  • Conduct regular inspections and report maintenance issues.
  • Monitor housekeeping equipment, supplies, and lost & found procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with hotel policies, safety standards, and operational procedures.

Reporting & Administration:

  • Prepare and present sales reports, forecasts, and performance analysis to senior management.
  • Track and manage sales leads and opportunities using CRM systems (e.g., Opera, Salesforce, Delphi).
  • Ensure accurate records of all client interactions, leads, and bookings.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market conditions, competitor offerings, and industry best practices.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field. A Master’s degree or industry certifications (e.g., CHME, CMP) is a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in sales within the luxury hotel or hospitality industry, with a proven track record of achieving sales targets and managing key accounts.
  • Skills:
    • Exceptional sales and negotiation skills, particularly within the luxury market.
    • Strong understanding of the hotel industry, including MICE and leisure segments.
    • Proficiency in CRM systems, hotel sales software (e.g., Opera, Delphi), and Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Fluent in English; additional languages are highly desirable.
    • Ability to think strategically and creatively, with excellent problem-solving skills.

Working Conditions:

  • Full-time position with flexibility for evening and weekend work, depending on client needs and industry events.
  • Travel may be required to meet with clients or attend industry events.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet sales targets in a competitive environment.
