Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Housekeeping Supervisor to join our team in Novotel Johor Bahru City Centre, Malaysia. In this role, you will lead and inspire a dedicated housekeeping team while maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, organization, and guest satisfaction. As a Housekeeping Supervisor, you will be a multi-tasker capable of working independently and collaboratively, performing complex duties to support your team's success. You will communicate effectively with all contacts, anticipate and resolve issues proactively, and ensure your team has the tools, guidance, and motivation needed to excel.
- Lead and supervise the day-to-day operations of the housekeeping department, ensuring all service standards and organizational policies are consistently followed
- Provide professional, friendly, and engaging service to guests and internal stakeholders at all times
- Handle guest concerns with empathy and efficiency, logging issues and notifying appropriate departments promptly
- Conduct daily briefings and team meetings to inform room attendants about priorities, expectations, and departmental updates
- Train, mentor, and motivate housekeeping staff to develop their skills and foster a collaborative team environment
- Monitor work quality and performance, providing constructive feedback and recognition to support continuous improvement
- Ensure all safety, sanitation, and health protocols are strictly adhered to throughout the department
- Identify and report maintenance issues, equipment needs, and inventory requirements to appropriate management
- Evaluate operational challenges and make decisive, accurate decisions to resolve issues quickly
- Actively participate in departmental meetings and contribute to process improvements and innovative solutions
- Maintain detailed records and documentation related to team performance, guest feedback, and departmental operations
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a housekeeping or hospitality role, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership position.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on delivering exceptional guest service.
- Knowledge of housekeeping practices, cleaning techniques, and use of cleaning equipment.
- Flexible schedule, including availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Fluency in English; additional languages preferred.
