Job Description

At SLS The Red Sea, surprise and style are part of the experience—but safety is never left to chance. We are hiring for a Health & Safety Supervisor, you are the vigilant curator of wellbeing, ensuring every bold moment enjoyed by our guests and colleagues unfolds in a secure, controlled, and impeccably managed environment. This role goes far beyond ticking compliance boxes. It is about cultivating a safety‑first culture where awareness is instinctive, standards are elevated, and every inspection, training, and emergency plan supports the seamless magic of SLS. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Champion a safety‑first culture by developing, updating, and enforcing progressive health & safety protocols aligned with SLS standards.
  • Design and implement compliant, practical, and forward‑thinking safety policies that maintain the creative, dynamic spirit of the brand.
  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and site-wide audits, identifying gaps and driving corrective actions.
  • Oversee preventive maintenance and readiness of fire and life safety systems, including alarms, sprinklers, extinguishers, and emergency lighting.
  • Develop, maintain, and rehearse a hotel-wide Emergency Response Plan to ensure effective, coordinated response in any crisis.
  • Lead or support real-time emergency situations with proper escalation and communication to leadership.
  • Deliver engaging, memorable health & safety training sessions tailored to the diverse SLS team.
  • Conduct contractor and new colleague onboarding with clarity, compliance, and consistency.
  • Patrol all property areas—front-of-house and back-of-house—to identify hazards, inefficiencies, or compliance concerns.
  • Exercise authority to stop any process or activity posing risk to life, wellbeing, or brand reputation.
  • Investigate incidents and near misses thoroughly, producing accurate reports and actionable preventive recommendations.
  • Maintain and manage the incident reporting system with full accuracy, transparency, and data-driven insights.
  • Collaborate closely with Security, Engineering, Housekeeping, Culinary, and Guest Experience teams to ensure safety is embedded in operations.
  • Support event and activation setups, ensuring all creative concepts meet safety requirements.
  • Review and enhance safety policies regularly to align with evolving regulations and group standards.
  • Recommend appropriate PPE and ensure all safety gear and uniforms meet both functional and brand requirements.

Qualifications

  • Degree or formal certification in Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in a similar role, ideally within hospitality, entertainment, or luxury lifestyle environments.
  • Strong knowledge of HSE standards, local regulatory requirements, and emergency preparedness frameworks.
  • Excellent communication, investigation, and documentation skills.
  • Proficiency in incident reporting systems, MS Office Suite, and safety inspection tools.
  • Fluent in English; Arabic is an advantage.
  • A proactive mindset, strong attention to detail, and the confidence to make critical safety decisions.
