Job Description

We are looking for an experienced and creative Head Chef to lead the kitchen at ibis Wellington. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about food, confident in leading a team and committed to delivering consistent, high-quality dishes for our guests.

 

The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, fresh ideas and a proven background in menu development, food quality control and efficient kitchen management.

You will be responsible for the smooth daily operation of the kitchen while upholding excellent standards of hygiene, safety, and culinary performance.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all kitchen operations.
  • Train, support and motivate the kitchen team.
  • Ensure efficient, professional, and timely food preparation and service.
  • Create and test seasonal, well-balanced menus.
  • Maintain consistency and quality across all dishes.
  • Incorporate guest preferences, dietary needs, and cost considerations into menu planning.
  • Monitor stock levels and place orders as required.
  • Manage food costs, control waste, and maintain accurate records.
  • Uphold all food hygiene, safety, and sanitation standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment at all times.
  • Work closely with front-of-house teams to deliver a great guest experience.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to operational and business improvement strategies.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Head Chef, or experienced sous chef
  • Relevant hospitality qualifications or professional training.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and kitchen hygiene standards.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Creativity and passion for food presentation and innovation.
