Job Description

Movenpick Resort El Quseir is seeking an experienced and visionary General Manager to lead our luxury resort operations in El Quseir, Egypt. As General Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the resort's operations, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, and driving profitability while maintaining the highest standards of hospitality excellence. This is a strategic leadership position that requires a decisive, motivational leader capable of inspiring a diverse team and delivering outstanding results in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

  • Oversee all resort operations, including front-of-house and back-of-house departments, ensuring seamless coordination and exceptional service delivery
  • Develop and implement strategic business plans to achieve revenue targets, optimize profitability, and enhance market positioning
  • Lead, mentor, and motivate a diverse team of department heads and staff, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Manage the resort's budget, financial performance, and P&L statements, ensuring cost efficiency without compromising service quality
  • Maintain and enhance guest satisfaction by establishing high service standards, addressing guest concerns, and implementing feedback mechanisms
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including corporate clients, travel partners, and local community members
  • Ensure compliance with all local regulations, health and safety standards, and company policies
  • Identify market opportunities and develop strategies to increase occupancy rates and revenue streams
  • Oversee marketing initiatives and brand positioning to maintain the resort's competitive advantage in the luxury hospitality market
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and implement training programs to develop staff capabilities and career progression
  • Manage crisis situations and implement effective problem-solving strategies to minimize operational disruptions

Qualifications

  • Fluency in German (written and spoken) - CRITICAL REQUIREMENT with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in professional and guest-facing situations
  • Proficiency in English language (both written and spoken) - essential requirement
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive management experience in luxury hotel or resort operations
  • Proven track record of successfully managing P&L, budgets, and financial performance in a hospitality setting
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff at all levels
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with guests, staff, and stakeholders
  • Strategic thinking and business acumen with demonstrated ability to drive revenue growth and operational efficiency
  • In-depth knowledge of hospitality industry standards, best practices, and operational procedures
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and crisis management experience
  • Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences
  • Proficiency in hospitality management systems and Microsoft Office applications
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in a multicultural environment with international clientele
  • Understanding of German business culture and communication styles in hospitality management
  • Preferred: Experience in luxury resort management within the Middle East or North Africa region
  • Preferred: Familiarity with the Egyptian hospitality market and local business practices
  • Preferred: Experience managing German-speaking guest demographics or German tour operators
