Job Description

We're looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented General Maintenance Technician to join our facilities management team in Kochi, India on a fixed-term contract basis. In this role, you'll be the backbone of our operations, ensuring that all building systems, equipment, and infrastructure function smoothly and efficiently. You'll work collaboratively with various departments while maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism.   • Perform routine inspections of premises, building systems, and equipment to identify maintenance needs and potential issues before they escalate
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other building systems to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and plumbing problems efficiently and implement effective solutions with precision
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency breakdowns, demonstrating resilience and decisiveness under pressure
  • Install, service, and repair equipment and fixtures, ensuring optimal performance and safety compliance at all times
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance work, service logs, spare parts inventory, and equipment performance metrics for organizational transparency
  • Monitor equipment performance and utility systems, making data-driven recommendations for improvements and cost optimization
  • Ensure proper cleaning, servicing, and maintenance of filters, coils, ducts, and ventilation systems to support operational efficiency
  • Follow all safety procedures, regulations, and relevant safety guidelines to maintain a secure work environment for all staff
  • Coordinate with external contractors for specialized repairs and services when necessary, ensuring seamless collaboration
  • Work closely with other departments to minimize operational disruption and support organizational goals through effective communication
  • Participate in training programs and professional development opportunities to enhance technical skills and stay current with industry best practices
  • Suggest innovative improvements to maintenance processes and procedures for better efficiency and cost control
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, properly storing tools and materials in designated locations

Qualifications

**Required Qualifications:**

  • Proven experience in general maintenance, facilities management, or building systems maintenance
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems with hands-on troubleshooting experience
  • Proficiency in equipment installation, servicing, and repair across multiple building systems
  • Solid understanding of preventive maintenance principles and best practices
  • Knowledge of safety protocols, regulations, and compliance standards relevant to facilities maintenance
  • Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills with the ability to maintain accurate documentation
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical mindset to diagnose and resolve issues efficiently
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting, climbing, and working in various environmental conditions
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with colleagues and external contractors
  • Time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and respond to emergencies
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe and clean work environment

**Preferred Qualifications:**

  • Technical certification in HVAC, electrical work, or plumbing
  • Safety certifications such as OSHA or equivalent safety training
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
  • Knowledge of energy efficiency and sustainability practices in facilities management
  • Experience in a hospitality, corporate, or large-scale facilities environment
  • Demonstrated track record of implementing innovative maintenance solutions
  • Customer service orientation with a focus on supporting organizational objectives
