Job Description

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  1. Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards.
  2. Anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day.
  3. Maintain positive guest relations at all times.
  4. Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction.
  5. Maintain complete knowledge at all times of:
  1. all hotel features/services, hours of operation.
  2. all room types, numbers, layout, decor, appointments and location.
  3. all room rates, special packages and promotions.
  4. daily house count and expected arrivals/departures.
  5. scheduled daily group activities.
  6. Loyalty program details
  1. Build guest loyalty through personalized service
  2. Process all guest registrations and check-outs.
  3. Communicate services and amenities of the hotel to guests.
  4. Coordinate all guest room billing.
  5. Respond to all guest requests.
  6. Document and confirm reservations and cancellations.
  7. Block rooms in computer and follow through on designated requirements.
  8. Generate, print and distribute daily and weekly reports.
  9. Settle guest accounts and adhere to all cashiering procedures.
  10. Assist other front office departments as needed.

Qualifications

  1. High school graduate or equivalent vocational training certificate.
  2. Previous experience as Front Desk Agent in hospitality an asset.
  3. Previous guest relations and cashiering experience an asset.
  4. Computer literate in Microsoft window Applications.
  5. Knowledge of Opera Property Management system
  6. Fluency in English both verbal and non-verbal.
  7. Ability to:
  • perform job functions with attention to detail,  speed and accuracy.
  • prioritize and organize.
  • be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgement.
  • understand guests’ needs.
  • work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team.
  • work with minimal supervision.
  • maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent hotel data.
