Job Description
Join Novotel Southampton and help lead the food and beverage operation across two busy Southampton hotels. This full-time role offers a salary of £30,000-£32,000 per annum and the opportunity to make a real impact on guest satisfaction, team development and commercial performance.
We're looking for a hands-on and commercially minded hospitality leader to oversee the bars and restaurants serving Novotel Southampton and ibis Southampton. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Food & Beverage professional who thrives on delivering exceptional guest experiences, developing teams and driving strong commercial results.
Located in the heart of Southampton, the hotels serve a diverse mix of business travellers, cruise passengers, leisure guests and local customers, creating a fast-paced and rewarding environment.
The Role
As Bar & Restaurant Manager, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the food and beverage departments, leading your team to deliver exceptional service while driving revenue, controlling costs and maintaining high operational standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing the daily operation of the bars and restaurants
- Driving revenue and achieving commercial targets
- Managing stock control, purchasing and waste management
- Controlling payroll costs and departmental expenditure
- Delivering exceptional guest experiences and professionally resolving guest feedback
- Ensuring compliance with licensing laws, food hygiene and health & safety regulations
- Recruiting, training and developing team members
- Preparing weekly schedules and ensuring appropriate staffing levels
- Leading, motivating and inspiring the team to achieve excellent results
About You
You'll have at least three years' experience in a Food & Beverage supervisory or management role and be confident leading teams in a busy hospitality environment.
We're looking for someone with strong leadership, communication and organisational skills, along with experience managing costs, stock control and labour budgets. Knowledge of POS systems, stock management and current beverage trends would be advantageous. A hands-on approach and flexibility to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays are essential.
