Job Description

As the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the pre-opening phase of Fairmont Mumbai, including budgeting, forecasting, financial planning and analysis, and internal controls. You will play a key role in ensuring the financial success and sustainability of the hotel by providing strategic financial guidance and implementing sound financial practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Planning and Analysis: Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive financial plans, budgets, and forecasts for the pre-opening phase, in alignment with corporate objectives and industry standards.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including monthly financial statements, variance analysis, and key performance indicators (KPIs), to senior management and corporate headquarters.
  • Cash Flow Management: Monitor cash flow projections and liquidity requirements, optimize cash resources, and implement cash management strategies to ensure adequate funding for pre-opening activities and ongoing operations.
  • Cost Control: Implement cost control measures and monitor expenses to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints and maximize profitability while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Internal Controls: Establish and maintain robust internal controls and financial procedures to safeguard assets, prevent fraud, and ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Financial Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks associated with pre-opening activities, including market risks, currency risks, and operational risks, through proactive risk management strategies.
  • Capital Expenditure Management: Manage capital expenditure projects, evaluate investment opportunities, and coordinate with project teams to ensure cost-effective allocation of resources and timely completion of projects.
  • Financial Strategy Development: Develop and recommend financial strategies and initiatives to drive revenue growth, cost optimization, and operational efficiency, in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the finance team members, providing guidance, coaching, and support to foster their professional development and ensure high performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field; Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CFA) preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting roles, preferably in the hospitality industry or a related field, with at least 3 years in a managerial capacity.
  • Strong financial acumen with a deep understanding of financial principles, practices, and regulations.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data, analyze trends, and develop actionable insights.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and financial software (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members to achieve organizational goals.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with senior management, stakeholders, and external partners.
