We're looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Assistant Manager- Finance to join our finance team in Kathmandu, Nepal. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting our financial operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and providing valuable insights to drive organizational success. You will work collaboratively with senior finance leadership and cross-functional teams to maintain robust financial controls, prepare accurate financial reports, and support strategic decision-making. - Assist in the preparation, analysis, and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements
- Supervise and coordinate daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll processing, general ledger maintenance, and bank reconciliations
- Support the budgeting and forecasting process; monitor, analyze, and report on budget variances to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
- Prepare comprehensive management reports and financial analyses to support operational and strategic decision-making by senior leadership
- Maintain and strengthen internal control procedures to safeguard organizational assets and ensure compliance with company policies
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors, ensuring all required documentation is accurate, complete, and readily available for audit activities
- Participate actively in cost control initiatives and profitability improvement projects, providing analytical insights and recommendations
- Oversee the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate submission of financial reports to management and relevant stakeholders
- Train, mentor, and provide guidance to junior finance team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and maintaining high standards of accounting practices
- Ensure full compliance with local Nepali tax regulations, statutory requirements, and international accounting principles
**Experience**
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in a senior finance or accounting position, or minimum 2 years of experience in a similar Assistant Manager capacity
- Proven experience in financial statement preparation, analysis, and reporting
- Demonstrated experience managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, and bank reconciliation functions
- Strong background in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Experience implementing and maintaining internal control procedures and compliance frameworks
- Familiarity with month-end and year-end closing processes
- Experience coordinating with internal and external auditors
**Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent professional certification (preferred)
**Skills & Competencies**
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Proficiency with financial and accounting reporting systems and software
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with strong attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- Exceptional time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Leadership and team management capabilities
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Collaborative mindset with strong interpersonal skills
**Domain Expertise**
- Comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations
- Understanding of local Nepali tax laws and regulatory compliance requirements
- Familiarity with internal audit procedures and best practices
- Knowledge of financial control frameworks and risk management principles
