Job Description
The Food & Beverage Server is responsible for providing exceptional and personalized dining experiences by delivering professional, efficient, and attentive table service in accordance with the hotel's standards. The role ensures guests receive prompt service, accurate order delivery, and a welcoming dining atmosphere while supporting the smooth operation of all Food & Beverage outlets.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Guest Service
- Welcome guests warmly and escort them to their tables where applicable.
- Present menus, explain menu items, daily specials, and beverage selections.
- Take food and beverage orders accurately and enter them into the Point of Sale (POS) system.
- Serve food and beverages according to established service standards.
- Anticipate guest needs and provide attentive, personalized service throughout the dining experience.
- Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests, inquiries, and complaints.
- Ensure guest satisfaction by following up during and after service.
Food & Beverage Operations
- Prepare restaurant stations before service, ensuring all equipment and supplies are available.
- Ensure tables are properly set and maintained throughout service.
- Coordinate closely with the kitchen and bar to ensure timely and accurate order delivery.
- Monitor food quality and presentation before serving guests.
- Clear tables efficiently and reset them for the next guests.
- Support breakfast, lunch, dinner, room service, and special events as assigned.
Food Safety & Hygiene
- Follow all food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards.
- Ensure cleanliness of dining areas, service stations, and equipment.
- Handle food and beverages safely to maintain quality and hygiene.
- Report any food safety concerns or maintenance issues immediately.
- Maintain personal grooming and hygiene standards in accordance with hotel policies.
Cash Handling & Administration
- Process guest bills accurately using the POS system.
- Handle cash, credit card, and other payment methods according to hotel procedures.
- Ensure billing accuracy and resolve payment discrepancies promptly.
- Complete side duties, opening and closing checklists, and shift handovers.
- Maintain accurate records of guest checks and transactions where required.
Collaboration
- Work closely with the Culinary, Bar, Stewarding, and Food & Beverage teams to ensure seamless service.
- Assist colleagues during busy service periods to achieve operational goals.
- Participate in departmental briefings, training sessions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support banquet events and hotel functions when required.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Certificate or Diploma in Hospitality or Food & Beverage Service is an advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience as a Server in a café, restaurant, hotel, or specialty coffee shop.
- Hospitality hotel experience is preferred.
- Pre-opening experience is an advantage.
