Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate all banquet activities, ensuring high standards of service and quality.
  • Oversee the setup, service, and breakdown of banquet events, ensuring they are executed according to the event specifications.
  • Lead, train, and motivate the banquet staff to deliver excellent customer service.
  • Ensure all banquet events are properly staffed, with adequate resources and equipment.
  • Assist in the preparation of event schedules, and communicate clearly with the kitchen and event teams to ensure seamless coordination.
  • Conduct pre-event meetings with clients and event coordinators to review details and resolve any special requests or issues.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of banquet areas, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
  • Handle guest inquiries or complaints promptly and professionally, working to resolve any issues to the satisfaction of the guest.
  • Maintain accurate records of event logistics, including guest counts, set-up requirements, and special requests.
  • Ensure inventory control of banquet supplies and equipment, and assist in ordering or restocking items as needed.
  • Monitor service quality during events and provide ongoing feedback and support to staff.
  • Collaborate with the management team to develop and implement policies and procedures that improve efficiency and guest satisfaction.
  • Assist with billing and event settlement at the conclusion of events.
  • Ensure compliance with hotel and brand standards, as well as legal and safety requirements.

Qualifications

  • Passion for customer service;
  • Supervisory experience in a similar role;
  • Proven experience in leading and motivating a team;
  • Strong interpersonal skills both with internal and external customers;
  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve and remain calm under pressure;
  • Excellent time management and communication skills;
  • Be available to work across a variety of shifts and 
  • Holds a valid Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) in VIC.
