What you’ll do

We are looking for an experienced Executive Pastry Chef to join the team at Hotel Naru Seoul - MGallery, under the guidance of the Executive Chef, you will:

  • Coordinate and direct all aspects of the Pastry department operation and collaborate with the Food and Beverage team and all necessary stakeholders to achieve marketing and business goals and objectives.
  • Use your Pastry expertise and skill, you’ll be crucial in ensuring our Pastry kitchen continues to excel in producing the most creative, innovative and inspirational items.
  • Bring delicious, creative and bespoke flavors and creations to our guests’ tables, running a section in our busy Pastry kitchen.
  • Make sure our operation runs without hitch, orders and deliveries are coming and going as needed, our service is smooth, and our food hygiene standards are sky-high.
  • Support our Executive chef on ideas and techniques that make our Pastry kitchen a creative, ever-changing environment where we’re always looking to come up with new, delicious combinations of taste and creative design.
  • Nurture and develop the talent of the Pastry kitchen and wider team, creating an environment that brings out the best in them and where they can be themselves
  • Produce all food items required for the assigned kitchens including Banquets, Restaurants, etc.
  • Control the ordering and requisitions to achieve budgeted costs.
  • Work closely with other departments such as Sales & Marketing or Retail Merchandising to conceptualize and implement dynamic marketing programmes to drive marketing/PR activities for the pastry.

  • Previous experience in a fast-moving, quality driven, culinary team, as either an Executive Pastry Chef or Pastry Sous Chef.
  • Passion for Pastry is a given; you’ve worked hard to perfect your craft and you have a huge appetite to continue learning from the best in the business.
  • You’re all about having a positive impact on the people you interact with, leaving them with a memorable experience.
  • You make people feel good - your team, guests and colleagues alike.
  • Organization and attention to detail.
  • You’re not precious. We leave our egos at the door and help get stuff done.
  • You’re up for doing things differently and trying (almost) everything once.
  • You want to be part of a team that works hard, supports each other and has fun along the way.
  • Extensive Pastry technical knowledge and current culinary trends with high level of creativity, able to master chocolate and sugar techniques.  
  • Extensive experience in managing and developing a team of chefs.
