Job Description
Approximately 15 - 18 hours per week across Monday, Wednesday and Friday, with occasional weekend availability required.
We are looking for a practical and reliable Maintenance Technician / Handyman to support the day-to-day upkeep of our boutique hotel. This is a hands-on role involving a variety of general maintenance duties across guest rooms, public areas and back-of-house spaces.
Key Responsibilities
- Carrying out preventative maintenance across guest rooms and public areas
- Performing general repairs and maintenance as required
- Using and maintaining general tools and equipment confidently and safely
- Completing basic plumbing tasks, including unblocking drains and attending to minor leaks
- Performing basic painting, patching and general repair work
- Responding to reactive maintenance requests as they arise
- Assisting with contractor coordination and site access, where required
- Ensuring all maintenance work is completed to hotel and brand standards
- Accurately recording completed maintenance tasks and reporting any outstanding issues
- Working safely and maintaining a clean and organised work environment
- Holding a White Card and being prepared to undertake relevant maintenance duties
This is a hands-on role where pride in workmanship, reliability, attention to detail and a calm, guest-focused approach are highly valued.
Qualifications
Desirable qualifications:
- Formal trade qualification or relevant vocational training
- Experience working within hospitality or heritage building environments
- Familiarity with hotel maintenance management systems such as hub os
