Duty Engineer

Swissotel Al Ghurair & Swissotel Living Al Ghurair Hotel is a 620-room-and-suite upper upscale property. Catering for both business and leisure clientele. The hotel is located in Deira in the heart of Dubai and within easy reach of major tourist landmarks, leisure destinations and city services. It is linked to the Al Ghurair Shopping Centre, only 3 stops away on the Dubai Metro from the Dubai World Trade Centre and a 10 minute drive from Dubai International Airport.

As a Duty Engineer / Foreman you are responsible for all the mechanical and technical maintenance and HVAC equipment within the property.

What you will be doing: 

• Supervise and control the preventive maintenance schedule
• Responsible for the health safety of the property
• Responsible for all Admin works, store, ordering and invoice record keeping
• Coordinating with purchasing for all ordering of materials/quotations etc
• Must have good knowledge of Auto CAD
• Daily utility reading and monitoring the consumption
• Follow the preventive maintenance chart strictly and maintain records for future reference
• Coordinate with other department’s counterparts to ensure their satisfaction on quality and progress
• Must have all expertise on PowerPoint presentation and MS word
• Create departmental training programmes among engineering Employees and create opportunities to multitask
• Distribute the work to subordinates accordingly to their capabilities in order to get the best results to the specified standards
• Operate in a safe and environmentally friendly way to protect guests’ and employees’ health and safety, as well as protect and conserve the environment
• Comply with the hotel environmental, health and safety policies and procedures

• Minimum 2-3 years of previous experience as a Duty Engineer is desired
• Experience is the hospitality industry is preferred
• Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as a part of a team.
• Excellence in strategic leadership and team management
• Positive attitude and good communication skills

Visa requirements:

Please note that you must be eligible to live and work in Dubai. Swissotel Al Ghurair & Swissotel Living Al Ghurair will cover visa costs and flights for selected candidates from place of origin.
