Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Operational & Technical

  • Perform daily rounds to check the functioning of mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), HVAC, and other engineering systems.

  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and breakdown calls from all departments.

  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment such as pumps, AHUs, FCUs, exhaust fans, chillers, boilers, and kitchen/laundry machinery.

  • Ensure proper operation of emergency systems – fire alarm, sprinkler system, fire pumps, emergency lights, and generators.

  • Monitor BMS (Building Management System) and rectify alarms immediately.

  • Conduct preventive maintenance as per schedule and update records.

Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with statutory and safety standards (fire safety, electrical safety, water quality, STP/RO plant guidelines).

  • Maintain the logbooks for utility readings, equipment performance, and daily engineering activities.

  • Support in conducting safety drills and risk assessments.

Coordination & Communication

  • Coordinate with vendors/contractors for repairs, AMC services, and inspections.

  • Provide technical support to housekeeping, front office, F&B, and other departments.

  • Handle guest room maintenance issues with professionalism and minimal disruption.

Energy Management

  • Monitor and manage consumption of electricity, water, diesel, and gas.

  • Suggest improvements for energy conservation and equipment efficiency.

Other Responsibilities

  • Train junior technicians on operating procedures and safety practices.

  • Assist the Chief Engineer during emergencies, audits, and major repairs.

  • Maintain tools, workshop cleanliness, and engineering inventory.


Qualifications

  • Diploma/ITI in Mechanical, Electrical, or related field

  • 2–4 years of experience in hotel engineering or facility maintenance


Additional Information

  • Strong troubleshooting and technical skills

  • Knowledge of MEP, HVAC, electrical systems, and safety procedures

  • Ability to handle emergencies calmly

  • Good communication and coordination skills

  • Basic computer/BMS operation knowledge
