Job Description

We at Ibis Kochi City Centre are seeking an accomplished and visionary Director of Sales to lead our sales organization in Kochi, India. In this pivotal leadership role, you will drive revenue growth, build and mentor a high-performing sales team, and develop strategic initiatives that position our organization for sustainable success. The Director of Sales will be responsible for all aspects of sales operations, including strategy development, team management, revenue forecasting, and customer relationship management.   • Develop, implement, and execute comprehensive sales strategies aligned with organizational goals and market opportunities
  • Lead, recruit, train, and coach a high-performing sales team, fostering a culture of collaboration, professional development, and accountability
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), sales targets, and SMART goals; track progress and implement corrective actions as needed
  • Conduct competitive analysis and market research to identify revenue opportunities, market trends, and demand patterns
  • Prepare and manage the sales budget, forecasts, and financial reports; ensure efficient resource allocation and cost management
  • Oversee all sales activities, including prospecting, lead generation, account management, and customer retention initiatives
  • Participate in strategic sales presentations, client meetings, and property/facility tours to strengthen customer relationships
  • Collaborate with cross-functional departments including marketing, operations, and customer service to ensure seamless service delivery and customer satisfaction
  • Monitor and evaluate sales team performance; conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of competitive landscape, industry dynamics, and customer needs
  • Represent the organization at industry events, community organizations, and networking opportunities to enhance brand visibility
  • Manage and mentor direct reports, providing coaching, support, and career development opportunities
  • Ensure adherence to company sales policies, standard operating procedures, and compliance requirements
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance sales efficiency and effectiveness
  • Maintain consistent and strategic communication with regional and corporate leadership to align on commercial objectives
  • Foster an inclusive, transparent, and empowering work environment that encourages innovation and open dialogue
  • Any other reasonable duties as assigned by senior management

Qualifications

**Required Qualifications:**

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related field
  • Minimum 8-10 years of progressive sales leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a director-level or equivalent role
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful sales strategies that drive revenue growth and market expansion
  • Demonstrated experience managing and leading sales teams of varying sizes
  • Strong proficiency in sales analytics, data interpretation, and financial forecasting
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all organizational levels
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Experience with CRM systems and sales management software
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a detail-oriented approach
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing market conditions
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships and manage key accounts
  • Experience with budget management and P&L responsibility

**Preferred Qualifications:**

  • Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) or related field
  • Sales management or leadership certification
  • Experience in the hospitality, service, or corporate sales industry
  • Demonstrated experience with strategic account management and complex sales cycles
  • Knowledge of market analysis, competitive positioning, and demand planning
  • Experience implementing sales process improvements and operational efficiencies
  • Proficiency in multiple sales platforms and business intelligence tools
  • Track record of successful team building, talent development, and retention
  • Experience with change management and organizational transformation initiatives
  • Emotional intelligence and strong coaching/mentoring capabilities

**Domain Expertise:**

  • Industry-specific sales knowledge relevant to the organization's sector
  • Understanding of local market dynamics and customer preferences in the Kochi region
  • Knowledge of regional business practices and cultural considerations in India
